  • Some general Greetings.
  • Introducing English alphabet with relevant names of animals, birds, flowers, fruits, vegetables, plants etc.

• Oral practice of simple sentences prescribed for Standard 3, 4 and 5.
• Recitation of Nursery Rhymes and Poem with a rhythm and intonations.
• Writing practices: Penmanship (hand writing) and Words (spelling).

• Viva-Voce: Self-introduction, Description (of a given Picture/Landscape), Narration, and Extempore story writing on any one of the topics given.
• Vocabulary of 750 words (prescribed for Std. 3-8).

  • Determiners of Noun.

  • Demonstrative (This, That, These, Those).
  • Distributive (Each, Every, Either, Neither).
  • Determiners of number/quantity (few, some, much).
  • Pronoun.
  • Adjectives and degree of comparisons.
  • Verb: Use of Verb in present, past and future.
• Sentences: Transformation of sentences (Affirmative to negative, Assertive to Interrogative) and Active/Passive Voice.
• Common Errors in: Noun and number, Verb, Spellings, Articles, Adjective degrees, and Punctuation.
• Pronunciation & Reading:
  
  • Perception and production of sounds: vowels, consonants.
  • Speaking some words where the letters are silent (e.g. Walk, Straight, Talk).
  • Reading aloud paragraphs, dialogues and poem with intonations and modulation.
